In school student are taught languages, math, science, English and history, there also allowed playing sports, socializing with their friends and they also learn to adapt to a lot of social situations. The most common social issues in school are Emotional, ethnical, gender, economics and cultural. Emotional issues would more than likely be if a student’s parents got divorced or if someone close to them passes away. Ethnical issues are if you are of a different race, children that have never been around anyone of a different color, may not be so kind to the other children “not like them”, also stereotypes are usually attached to race when there is school. Gender issues start when kids are just starting to learn about each other, like the whole they have cooties. They also say the more opportunities then women do and men think that women can’t do anything a man can, which most women can if they set their mind to it and have all the resources. Economics is playing a big role in education, if you are from a poor family you will more than likely be going to public school, as to rich parent will send their kids to private school if they so choose. Also if you are from poor parent you might get made fun of the way you dress and just the fact that you are poor. Cultural issues would include thing like if you are from another country and your parents decided to move to the United States, you’re probably not going to be able to speak English unless you were taught it in your previous school, lots of kids today will make fun of the way you speak. Also there will be a barrier on communication with other if you don’t speak the language of the country you are living in. research shows that 7,000 kids drop out of school because of these social issues, but strides are being made to lessen the amount of social issues in schools.
