Some ethnical issues in schools…

Some of the most common ethnical issues in school are educational resources for special education, choice of teacher, school uniforms, discipline issues and addressing diversity. In 1975 they passed a law called education for all handicapped children act, because up until 1975 there was no special education for handicapped students, they had no other choice but to go to public school, where the curriculum wasn’t appropriate for their needs. This act made it possible for kids ages 3 to 21 the right to free appropriate public education. Choice of teacher is not for the parent to decide which teacher the student will have, it’s the principals, if the parents feel as though the teacher is not a good fit for the student for any reason can ask for the student to be switched, but in the end the principal has the final say. With school uniforms in public schools you are either for it or against it, school uniforms are usually for private school students. The reason why some people want school uniforms in public school is because of the provocatively dressed girls, immodest piercings and some boys and girls are dressed too casual. Some people think that what you wear has no affect on what is taught at school, or how a person learns. Discipline issues are when a student does something wrong and there is action taken against them, usually at school there is a zero tolerance policy, and the zero tolerance policy is that you don’t get a second chance, you get a punishment. Some think that if a student does wrong that they should get a second chance because they may have been at the wrong place at the wrong time. Addressing diversity is when  student s with social and ethnical background, schools find it difficult to please everyone, some school address the issue with what subject are taught at school, including different ethnic sports and multi cultural festivals, but it really shouldn’t matter, everyone needs and education.
