Career development…when does it start?

Career development is a process that will take place over a lifetime, some say that biological, psychological, sociological and cultures factors will influence you career choice, change and withdrawal. The developmental career theories  have 3 stages, The fantasy stage which is role playing and imagination, The tentative stage, a , person’s growing awareness of interest and abilities they have, and third stage is the realistic stage, which is the identification of the career choice. There are some key factors that people will use when deciding on a career choice; they are individual values, emotional factors, amount and what kind of education they have, and environmental pressures. Career choice can start as early as kindergarten, but then can change many times by the time they get to high school. Maybe the person you look up to is a doctor, maybe which will help in your decision with your career. If you have trouble deciding on what you want for a career, you could obtain a career counselor, career counselors are here to help in the decision of your career. With a career counselor you will learn to deal with change, develop career focus, explore career options, prepare for job research and obtain employment. Once you have found you’re career choice, you may 10 year down the road, you may want to either change your career or make it better with more education. Education has to come before you even have a career, educations will give you endless opportunities in your career life.
